Real estate financing expands in June
Real estate financing expanded last month, while pressure still exists in the second half of this year, according to CRIC, a property research institution. In June, financing by Chinese property developers surged 66.2 percent on a monthly basis, reflecting release of pent-up demand. The figure was second only to that in January and represented a year-on-year growth of 32.6 percent.
PBOC to issue new edition of 5-yuan bills
The People's Bank of China, the central bank, said on Wednesday that it would issue a 2020 edition of the 5 yuan (71 cents) banknote of the fifth series of the renminbi, the Chinese currency, starting Nov 5. The new 5-yuan bill will have enhanced anti-counterfeiting features and better printing quality, according to a statement on the central bank website.
