MAY DAY TRIPS

China saw a total of 160 million domestic tourist trips during the five-day May Day holiday, down 30.2 percent from 2021, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Wednesday. Tourism revenue reached 64.68 billion yuan ($9.7 billion), down 42.9 percent from the same period of 2021, according to the ministry. The May Day holiday ran from April 30 to May 4 this year.

PANDEMIC PREVENTION

Beijing enhanced the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic during the May Day holiday. The city's cultural heritage bureau issued a notice on Monday to temporarily close all museums' indoor exhibitions from Tuesday, citing the need for pandemic prevention and control. The Beijing Administration Center of Parks also required all of its parks, including the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven Park and Beijing Zoo, to close all indoor areas from Tuesday until further notice.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Haichang Ocean Park Holdings said that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Sunny World Infrastructure and Real Estate Investment & Development Group Corporation, a property developer in Vietnam. The collaboration enables the sharing of resources and the two parties will found a joint venture to operate their cooperation projects, explore innovative collaboration models and create landmark cultural tourism projects in Vietnam. Two ocean theme parks, which Sunny World plans to develop or manage in its homeland, will come at the start of their cooperation, according to the agreement. For the two parks, Haichang will offer wide-ranging services such as planning, consulting, introducing its cultural tourism resources and businesses, and licensing its intellectual property, as well as animal husbandry and preparations for operation.

CELEBRATING MOTHER'S DAY

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday, Hualuxe Beijing Xinan has prepared a variety of culinary delights for diners.
