AI helping to detect power outages
Chinese power workers are combining algorithms with artificial intelligence power supply services to detect power fault locations in realtime and elevate repair efficiency. Since April, State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Co in East China's Jiangsu province has integrated distribution transformer and neighborhood matching algorithms into the "Power Grid Map" — initiated by State Grid Jiangsu — enabling rapid localization of power outage events to specific neighborhoods. In traditional models, there was a lack of such clear positioning, posing challenges in handling outage faults. This is an innovation by State Grid Xuzhou staff members in integrating multiple data sources into the Power Grid Map for comprehensive analysis.
