Ingersoll Rand deepens partnership with China at CIIE

Ingersoll Rand Inc, a US-based industrial products and solutions provider, unveiled several global premieres and announced plans to further expand its research, innovation, and sustainability efforts in China during the ongoing China International Import Expo in Shanghai — underscoring its evolution from an "exhibitor" to an "innovation partner" in the country.

Arnold Li, the group's senior vice-president, said that over 95 percent of Ingersoll Rand's products sold in China are now locally produced, and that the company's research and innovation center in Shanghai is driving innovation tailor-made for the Chinese market.

As Ingersoll Rand looks ahead to China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30) period, its strategy is closely aligned with the national focus on developing new quality productive forces, Li said.

"Our plan is not merely to expand our presence, but to evolve into an indispensable partner in China's high-quality development journey," he said, adding that his group aims to realize this vision by aligning with China's emerging industries, embedding itself more deeply within local value chains, and advancing through digital and sustainable innovation.

As an eight-time participant in the CIIE, Ingersoll Rand showcased products from over 10 of its family brands — including first-time exhibitors Hankison and GHH — and unveiled several groundbreaking innovations.

These included the global debut of the company's latest dry screw vacuum pump for critical sectors, as well as the worldwide launch of its newest maglev turbo blower, designed to deliver quieter, cleaner, smarter, and more reliable performance for wastewater treatment.

"Through these tangible innovations showcased at CIIE, we aim to forge new partnerships and reinforce our position as a key enabler of China's industrial transformation," Li said.

For digital development, the company offers "Sustainable Industrial Intelligence" through IoT (Internet of Things)-enabled systems that promise to transform factory operations in China.

These solutions provide customers with remote monitoring, data analytics, and predictive maintenance, helping them shift from reactive repairs to proactive optimization, he added.

"We will continue to expand our local footprint by investing where our customers are growing, particularly in new industrial clusters," Li said. "Our research and development capabilities will be further enhanced with a focus on deepening these digital and green technologies, ensuring our innovations remain at the forefront of China's evolving industrial landscape."
