Series explores the ecological chain in China's national parks

The third season of the documentary series Our National Park premiered on Dragon TV in October, showcasing the natural wonders in three of China's first batch of national parks — the Giant Panda National Park, the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, and the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park.

The documentary focuses on the flagship species of each national park and the umbrella effect they provide, telling the story of the close relationships between various species. The production reveals how species are interconnected and interdependent within the ecological chain.

"We believe that documentaries about national parks should not be a superficial glance or mere entertainment. Instead, they should enable viewers to genuinely feel the intricate workings of nature as a precise instrument, fostering a love for and a desire to protect it," says Wang Shuo, general director of the series.

It also records how people live in harmony with nature. "Humans are also an important link in the ecological chain. The topic of how we coexist harmoniously with nature is not an empty one. National parks are not isolated 'no-man lands', but rather shared spaces for everyone to enjoy," Wang says.

The two previous seasons have won multiple awards at home and abroad. The third season aims to follow in their footsteps and tell even more vivid stories.

"I hope the images of national parks not only showcase the majestic landscapes but also convey the Earth's most simple and profound call. May each of us find the inspiration of living in harmony with all things," says Wang.
