Pediatric services now available in all secondary and tertiary public general hospitals
All 4,845 secondary and tertiary public general hospitals across China are now capable of providing pediatric services to enhance the capacity and accessibility of pediatric care for the public, a health official said on Friday.
Xie Yang, spokeswoman of the National Health Commission, added that psychological clinics and sleep clinics have been established in all municipal-level regions, and the 12356 mental health support hotline has also been operational nationwide since May 1.
She recapped some of the progress accomplished in the healthcare sector throughout this year during a news conference.
According to her, hemodialysis services now cover all counties with over 100,000 permanent residents, and more than 200 medical test results can be mutually recognized between medical institutions within the same city.
The number of nursery care slots for children aged under three has reached 4.73 per 1,000 population. The total number of nursery care slots has exceeded 6.6 million, including 3.32 million affordable, government-subsidized slots, she added.
