China Salt operating revenue up 65% in 2008

China National Salt Industry Corporation, China's largest salt producer and distributor, posted an operating revenue of 13.5 billion yuan ($1.98 billion) in 2008, up 65 percent from a year before.

The State-owned company's assets amounted to 26.2 billion yuan in 2008, 8.2 billion yuan more than that of 2007.

The Beijing-based salt conglomerate, one of the 141 biggest State-owned enterprises, provides a range of products from table salt, livestock salt, water softener, ice melter, and salt for daily care products.
