China 2008 Gas Consumption 77.8 Billion Cubic Meters

China consumed a total 77.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas last year while domestic production stood at 77.5 billion cubic meters, China Petrochemical Corp., or Sinopec Group, said Wednesday.

City gas use, including households and vehicles, accounted for 33.2% of total consumption, the industrial sector 26.4%, chemical plants 22.1% and power generation the remainder, Sinopec said in an in-house newsletter
