Shougang's Caofeidian mill to be fully operational in 2010

A joint venture between Shougang Group, China's No 6 steel maker, and Tangshan Iron and Steel Co Ltd, is expected to be fully operational next year, Shougang Chairman Zhu Jimin said on Wednesday on the sidelines of the annual sessions of the National People's Congress.

In March, production will begin with a capacity of 4.85 million tons in the Hebei-based Caofeidian plant, accounting for about half of the planned output, Zhu said.
