Wang Xiaokun, analyst at the domestic commodities consultancy Sublime China Information Co Ltd, said the natural gas industry will play an extremely important role in China's energy structure transformation.
In late May, China and Russia signed a $400 billion natural gas deal. Russia will supply China with 38 billion cubic meters of gas annually for 30 years, starting in 2018.
Wang said that deal will mean business opportunities for domestic and foreign companies related to natural gas production, delivery and pipeline construction.
In the power generation sector, China plans to increase gas-fired power generation by 10 gigawatts annually to improve the environment, according to GE.
The company said this process will mean huge investments in gas exploration, transportation and monetization to connect gas supply with demand. and GE can participate in every step of the gas value chain.
