Lower telecom charges to boost industry upgrade

Scrapping domestic long-distance and roaming charges will expand access to information services and lift industrial transformation, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Miao Wei, said on Saturday.

Three major telecom carriers are testing systems and revising services packages to deliver the promise made in this year's government work report, Miao said at a press conference on the sidelines of the two sessions.
