'Over 20m migrant workers jobless'

Over 20 million migrant workers have lost their jobs due to the global financial crisis, said Zhang Mingqi, vice-chairman of the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) on Monday.

Speaking at a press conference, Zhang said that the deepening financial crisis has greatly impacted China's economy and migrant workers' legitimate rights since the second half of 2008.

Till now there have been various estimates as to the number of people unemployed due to the crisis.
