China cuts aviation fuel price

BEIJING - China's fuel price regulators will cut the domestic aviation fuel ex-factory price by 10 yuan ($1.46) per ton to 5,200 yuan from April 1, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced Wednesday.
The move was in line with a price change circular issued Wednesday by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planning agency, the CAAC said in a statement on its official website.

Industry analysts say fuel costs account for more than 40 percent of domestic carriers' total expenses and the move was conducive to cost cutting.
The NDRC announced in November last year a rise in the ex-factory aviation fuel price by 320 yuan per ton to 5,190 yuan. The price rose another 20 yuan per ton in January to 5,210 yuan.
The NDRC made no mention of price changes for petrol and diesel Wednesday.
