Cross-border healthcare platform signs deal with US medical firm

China's first online cross-border healthcare consulting platform Cycares signed a partnership contract with Cambridge Health Alliance, the US healthcare provider, on Monday.

Under the deal, the two sides will share their healthcare resources. Cycares CEO Joyce Xiong said this would be the first time that US general medical practitioners were introduced to Chinese clinics.

Xiong said: "Cycares aims to make foreign healthcare services available for Chinese. The partnership with CHA will enable us to offer more high-quality medical resources in the US to our clients."

Kristen K. Meisinger, medical staff president at CHA, said: "We're excited by the beginning of the partnership with Cycares across international borders, to bring our high-quality care and innovation system to China and learn from China as well."

One-year-old Cycares provides online services to help Chinese patients get second opinions from overseas hospitals. According to Xiong, it also has referred more than 100 Chinese for medical treatment in the US, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, or Singapore in the past year.

CHA is a local provider that offers bouquet of services ranging from primary care, specialized care to aged care.

It promotes the model of patient-centered and community-inspired care at the national level in the US, and also in many other countries, such as Australia, Brazil, Meisinger said.
