China to launch a new weather satellite soon

TAIYUAN -- China will launch a new meteorological satellite at an appropriate time in coming days, the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center said in a statement Wednesday.

A Long March-4C carrier rocket will carry the satellite, the second of China's Fengyun III series, into space.

Preparations for the launch have progressed smoothly, the statement said.
