Local graduate employment now govt priority

In his 2010 report on the work of the government, Jiang Daming, governor of Shandong, said the province will give a high priority to facilitating the employment of university graduates.

The government has set the following major targets for this year:

Urban employment will increase by 1 million, while rural labor force will see the transfer of 1.2 million people; the urban registered unemployment rate will continue to be below 4.6 percent; urban and rural income will grow steadily by 7 percent; and the rise in the CPI will be held under 3 percent.
