Artist behind the Dixi opera mask

Yang Zhenghong's masks are quite popular, as many locals come to buy for opera dance, and outsiders buy them as decorations.

To pass on the traditional technique, Yang Zhenhong is also teaching migrant workers and young people who are interested. "The inheritance of intangible cultural heritage is not easy, and should not be limited to families," Yang said. He has also taken the Dixi opera making technique to colleges, and even went abroad to universities to promote the tradition.
