去年，《獨(dú)立報(bào)》改用小版面，結(jié)果銷(xiāo)量大增。于是，《泰晤士報(bào)》緊跟《獨(dú)立報(bào)》的步伐采用了小版面。雖然兩家報(bào)紙都改用了小版面，但報(bào)紙內(nèi)容秉承原來(lái)風(fēng)格。它們依然屬于嚴(yán)肅類(lèi)報(bào)紙。

The two papers claim that people find the smaller size easier to handle when they travel to work on the bus or the train in the morning. The Timessays its new size is "compact", not tabloid.

這兩家報(bào)紙都解釋說(shuō)上班途中，小版面報(bào)紙?jiān)谲?chē)上更易攜帶。《泰晤士報(bào)》稱(chēng)新版面看起來(lái)更緊湊，但它并沒(méi)有淪為通俗小報(bào)。
