Participants at the first-ever legislative hearing held by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress voice their opinions on raising the point at which personal income tax is charged from 800 yuan (US$98.8) to 1,500 yuan (US$185), a major potential amendment to the existing Law on Personal Income Tax.

The government's adjustment of income tax regulations shows their concern for low and medium income citizens.
