Fashion festival starts in Dalian

The 17th Dalian International Fashion Festival will be held in Dalian City, Northeast China's Liaoning Province September 10-16. 

The annual event aims to promote exchanges between Chinese desingers and their foreign counterpart, according to a news conference held on Friday.

As one of the top fashion festivals in China, Dalian International Fashion Festival has attracted many top designers and celebrities at home and abroad in the past 16 years.

The 7-day event features garments made by over 800 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions, including the US, Britain, Germany , Italy, Canada.

International fashion masters Zandra Rhodes , Susanne Wiebe , Marella Ferreera from UK , Germany , Italy will hold fashion shows during the festival.

People who like excitement can enjoy the carnival held on September 10 and 11 featuring music and Chinese traditional dances.

Wei Xiaopeng , a chief organizer of the 17th Dalian International Fashion Festival , said that 8 large-scale events will be staged to visitors during the festival, including the opening ceremony and a magnificent evening party, the 17th International Garment Fair & China Garment Export Trade Talks, the 2005 Dalian Cup China Youth Fashion Designing Contest, park celebration, closing ceremony.
