A pet cat scratched on the bedroom door of her owner's house in Shenyang, Liaoning province, till she woke up and realized her electric blanket was on fire last Wednesday.

The woman phoned firefighters who arrived on the scene within minutes and put out the fire.

"I would have been charred had it not been for my cat," she said.
