Cyclists from countries including Poland and Denmark gather in Tian’anmen Square on Feb 27, 2012 to kick off a 168-day tour bound for London. Beginning in Beijing, the 12 cyclists are expected to reach their destination on July 27 for the opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games. On the way they will visit Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Washington in a bid to promote the Olympic spirit.

A nest of fossilized dinosaur eggs is displayed in Beijing on Feb 28, 2012. The nest, estimated to be at least 65 million years old, was returned to China after being smuggled to the United States.
