Hollywood action men Kirk Douglas and Harrison Ford donned aprons and grabbed serving spoons to help dish out Thanksgiving dinners to Los Angeles' homeless here Wednesday.
Douglas, 90, was joined by "Indiana Jones" star Ford and a bevy of other celebrities who served up meals of roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy to the needy at the Los Angeles Mission on Skid Row.
It was the third year in a row that Douglas, the star of iconic Hollywood classics such as "Spartacus" and "Ulysses," has hosted the annual charity event at the downtown shelter and the Anne Douglas Center for Women.
Douglas thanked fellow celebrities and public figures such as Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for supporting the event.
"It is also inspiring to see the actors and politicians come and help serve," Douglas said.
Other celebrities in attendance on Wednesday included Ford's partner, "Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart.
According to official figures released earlier this year, Los Angeles remains the United States homeless capital with more than 40,000 people sleeping rough every night.

道格拉斯對其他影星和洛杉磯市長安東尼奧?維拉萊格薩等社會名人對這一活動的支持表示了感謝。
他說：“看到好萊塢的同行和政治名人也來到這里幫忙，我感到很受鼓舞。”
哈里森?福特的女友、出演《甜心俏佳人》的女星卡莉斯塔?弗勞卡特也參加了本周三的“感恩節(jié)”慈善活動。
據(jù)今年年初公布的官方統(tǒng)計數(shù)據(jù)，洛杉磯每晚有四萬多人露宿街頭，是美國無家可歸者最多的城市。
