Residents of Chuzhou feasted their eyes on a variety of programs and intangible cultural heritage works during Folk Custom Week beginning Feb 18.

On the mountain path of Mount Langya, songs, gongs and drums could be heard in the distance. More than 20 senior citizens were singing along a crowd. "It is a kind of a feeling of happiness and worthiness after retirement," said 62-year-old grandma Tian Hongwei, head of the Chuzhou Folk Art Troupe.

Fengyang flower drums and flower-drum-lantern dances were performed at Children's Palace. Folk arts programs were performed daily during the Folk Custom Week of Chuzhou. A competition was held between 17 flower-drum-lantern dance teams consisting of nearly 1,000 people from eight counties (county-level city, districts) of Chuzhou.

In addition to excellent cultural activities, local Chuzhou cuisine attracted visitors from all parts of the country. At present Chuzhou boasts 48 intangible cultural heritage items.
