Renovations have begun for Liu Mingchuan's former residence in Feixi county. The renovated building will retain its original appearance. Liu, a native of Feixi county, was the first governor of Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Part of the middle axis of Liu's former residence has been completed. Feixi also plans to build a comprehensive memorial for Liu Mingchuan and the Huai army.

After the renovation of Liu's former residence, the home will not only serve as a scenic spot, but also an exchange platform for people between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
