Abstract: With the start of the second centennial goal of China’s socialist modernization cause, ecological civilization construction in China has formally entered a new historical stage. As the core and soul of ecological civilization construction, ecological culture will have a more and more prominent position and role. In 2013, the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government proposed to take the lead in building a national ecological civilization demonstration zone. In the same year, “Zhenjiang’s Ecological Civilization Construction Plan” put forward a goal to “basically form an ecological culture with regional characteristics on the basis of inheriting and carrying forward traditional culture of Zhenjiang.” Through the hard work of recent years, Zhenjiang has achieved remarkable results in building a characteristic ecological culture and promoting ecological civilization construction through ecological culture. Its basic practices and experience are to bring out ecological connotation in traditional culture, strengthen the protection of ecological culture carriers, develop ecological culture with regional characteristics, enhance the publicity and education of ecological culture, and transform achievements to boost the construction of ecological civilization. Zhenjiang’s practice and exploration of developing characteristic ecological culture is worthy of recognition, and its practice has reference value and significance for the construction of ecological culture in other places.
