On 19 and 20 August, 2015, Yang Yisheng, Deputy Chief Economist and International Business Director of CGGC and Vice General Manager of CGGC International, successively paid calls on Irene Muloni, Minister of Energy and Mineral of Uganda, and Zhao Yali, Ambassador of China to Uganda.

Yang Yisheng called on Minister of Energy and Mineral of Uganda |
Yang Yisheng briefly introduced the current status of CGGC’s market development in Africa, management of projects under construction and representative projects to both of them. He also reported the progress of Ayago Hydropower Project in Uganda in detail, and expressed gratitude to them for their energetic support and help for CGGC’s development in Uganda. Yang Yisheng said that CGGC will complete the preparatory work of Ayago Hydropower Project to put it into effect and bring benefits to Ugandan people as soon as possible.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral was very grateful to CGGC for its mountains of preparatory work to promoting Ayago Hydropower Project into service. She hoped that, by undertaking Ayago Project, CGGC would further participate in social and economic development of Uganda and bring more benefits to the local people. She said that the Ugandan government would continue giving full support to the development of CGGC in Uganda. The two sides reached a number of important consensuses on next working steps.

Yang Yisheng called on Ambassador of China to Uganda |
Ambassador Zhao Yali extended warm welcome to Yang Yisheng and his group. He pointed out that the construction of Ayago Hydropower Station in Uganda by CGGC was supported and recognized by the two Governments and relevant departments in the form of MOU, hoping that CGGC will work with the owner to accelerate the effectiveness and commencement of the project. Zhao also analyzed the political and economic situation in Uganda, proposed a number of recommendations on risk management and control against the Ugandan presidential election, expected petroleum revenues and other matters, and expressed that he would continue supporting the development of CGGC in Uganda.
The above meeting was attended by Mr. Yao Minghui, President of CGGC Three Gorges Construction Engineering Co. Ltd, and Mr. Lyu Zexiang and Mr. Yuan Baoyi, Vice Presidents of CGGC International. On August 20, Lyu met with the Uganda Minister of Transport, communicating about road, airport, port and other projects that CGGC were following up in Uganda.
