A Henan local annals compilation committee has completed its appraisal of local chorographies published in recent years. Ruzhou’s five chorographies, two geographic materials and one dictionary were awarded as excellent works of Henan chorography. Chorography of Ruzhou (1989—2000) and Record of Tobacco won second prize. Six other works won third prize.

In order to exchange experiences and improve chorography quality, the Henan local annals compilation committee has been carrying out excellent work appraisals throughout the province. After strict and scientific evaluation, 160 works were titled excellent works of Henan chorography, among which 41 received first prize, 56 second prize and 63 third prize awards.
