The first training class of BOC Services Company Ltd. (Kunshan Branch) begins

On the morning of May 6, 2009, Kunshan Branch of BOC Services Company Ltd. opened its vocational training class directed towards the fresh employees who are about to take their posts at the Ambow Training Industrial Garden of Jiangsu Modern Service Talent Training Base. As a principal BPO enterprise in Huaqiao International Service Business Park, the launch of its training class also symbolizes the start of Talent Bank of Huaqiao International Service Business Park.

The BOC Services Company Ltd. has set up its Eastern China Headquarter in charge of international card services in Huaqiao. In the early phase, it has established 500 seats and within several years will become the flagship center in Eastern China holding over 1000 seats. It has put the reserve of talents on the agenda during its early investigation – which began last year.

The BOC Services Company Ltd. lowers its cost through consignment recruitment. With the aim of further decreasing the cost in recruitment, the enterprise has consigned its recruitment work to the Human Resource Company of Huaqiao who helps recruit staff through various channels such as on college campuses and via the internet.

In the first phase, the HR Company selected nearly 50 applicants through job fairs in Kunshan. In the second phase, in accordance with the need of BOC Services Company Ltd, the HR Company chose employees from campuses by holding a written exam for over 500 students after introducing the working environment of Huaqiao, the basic information about the enterprise and the positions.

The BOC Services Company Ltd. hires employees mainly from the local area. According to the requisition of the enterprise, the HR Company has formulated a detailed strategy of hiring people within Kunshan.

It has also successively built talent supply bases in schools such as the Third Vocational Middle School of Huaqiao, Kunshan Radio and TV University and Kunshan No.1 Vocational Senior High School. In the middle of this April and May, 165 applicants were selected as future employees after the first round of written exams and the second round of face-to-face interviews. All these selected graduates are from universities and colleges in Kunshan, among which there are 62 selected through a written exam especially for the graduates with Permanent Residency in Huaqiao District held with the support of Huaqiao Labor Administration Bureau. These selected applicants then became the students in the first training class and will work for BOC Services Company Ltd. after two months’ training.

According to the requisition of the BOC Services Company Ltd., on May 5, the HR Company launched another talent reserve plan. It held the job fair in Suzhou Top University of Information Technology, where another 80 applicants were selected as the students of the second training class to be open on May 13. In total, 245 students will attend the second class.

To further lower the cost in human resources, the BOC Services Company Ltd. will dispatch its employees and set up a system of internships, with the help of the HR Company. In accordance with the policies issued by Suzhou and Kunshan governments, the “internship base” and “aid base” will be established to further support the enterprises.

The Talent Bank has effectively met the needs of BOC Services Company Ltd., and built a systematic “green channel” of talent supply for financial BPO providers, revealing the Park’s advantages in talent and human resource.
