ECFA makes the Huaqiao Trade Cooperation Zone standout

“More cheap Taiwan foods than before” someone describes the future after the ECFA is put into use. But that is only the one side of this story, actually it is just one leaf of it.

Being equipped with those industries, like outsourcing services, logistic distribution, trading and commercial services, Huaqiao Trade and Cooperation Zone is going to build up its own images and stand out in a new round of competition after the introduction of ECFA.

The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (abbreviated ECFA) is a preferential trade agreement across Taiwan Straits that aims to reduce tariffs and commercial barriers between the two sides. The pact, signed on June 29, 2010, in Chongqing, was seen as the most significant agreement with purpose to boost the two economies.

Kunshan Cross-Strait Trading Cooperation Zone covers 3.65 square kilometers, stretching from Huning express in the north to Lvdi avenue. Taiwan commercial exchange center, exhibition center, distribution center, bonded logistics center and supportive service center are the key elements in the zone and they will serve to build up the first platform in China to introduce the Taiwan food into Chinese mainland and to become the distribution center for Taiwan goods.

Seeking Opportunity in the Closing Ceremony of Taiwan Week

Making major steps towards transforming and upgrading in economy, enjoying a sound and scientific development on the patterns of growing are both the challenges and chances facing Kunshan, Huaqiao.

To promote the cooperation between Taiwan and Fujian, together with Jiangsu, Kunshan seizes the chance of hosting the closing ceremony of Taiwan Week to publicize the image of Kunshan and seeks opportunity to collaborate with Taiwan. In this regard, Kunshan, Huaqiao municipality organizes several events, like “the opening ceremony of Kunshan Cross-Strait Trading Zone”, “the 2010 Cross-Strait Cooperation and Development Forum” and so on.

With those opportunities whirling at the side of Huaqiao, it is surely that a bright future is waiting aside the coming of Huaqiao, Kunshan.
