Against complex international environment and slowdown of domestic economy, Huaqiao has boosted its services this year and made achievements during the first half. Services development is featured as following:

First, tertiary industry increases its share in GDP. With greater total scale and rapider growth, services are playing a stronger role in pulling GDP. During the first half of this year, added value of tertiary industry rose to 4.25 billion with a year-on-year increase of 36.9 percent, among which, services’ added value reached 40.75 million with a year-on-year increase of 36.2 percent. Tertiary industry accounted for 64.3 percent of GDP, driving GDP to grow by 21.1 percent.

Second, leading industries in services keep a strong momentum. During the first half, added value of leading industries in services rose to 2.84 billion with a year-on-year increase of 48.3 percent. Outsourcing services develops obviously, whose added value increased by 1.5 percent to 511 million.

Third, services made accomplishments in merchants and investment attraction. During the first half of 2012, newly registered foreign capital reached 218 million, completing 109.1 percent of its yearly plan, among which, services foreign capital is 187 million, accounting for 93.4 percent of its plan. Newly registered private capital comes to 2.03 billion and services 1.86 billion.
