The 2012 Forbes China County Investment and Development Forum took place in Huaqiao International Service Business Park on Sept 26. Kunshan ranked first in the Forbes China Best County-Level Cities for Business list, followed by Changshu and Jiangyin. It has topped the ranking four years in a row.

The forum was themed “New Industrial Revolution and Made in China”. Zhou Jiangong, chief editor of Forbes China, explained that private manufacturing had always been the pillar industry in China’s counties, but was affected heavily by the world’s economic slowdown last year. Meanwhile, digital technology and the traditional manufacturing industry were integrating faster worldwide, signaling a new industrial revolution that may serve as a reference for the transformation and upgrade of the private manufacturing industry in China.
