CGGC holds a mobilization meeting for Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project

CGGC mobilization meeting for Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project held on April 9, 2007. Yang Jixue, the President of CGGC, presided this meeting and made an important speech. Other leaders of CGGC, Yu Changsheng, Xiang Yongzhong, Niekai and Chen Bangfeng, attended this meeting. Members of functional departments of CGGC and relevant secondary units also attended.

Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project located at the southeast of Nigeria. It is the third largest project and largest hydropower project undertaken by Chinese company in the world at present as well as the important symbolize of the friendly cooperation between China and Nigeria. Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project is an interbasin water diversion and power generation project, with 8 units and a total installed capacity of 2600MW. It is comprised of two RCC dams and saddle dams, one rockfill dam and saddle dam, one regulation weir, two water transfer tunnels and one head waterway, one switchyard, access roads, underground powerhouse system, tailrace system, etc..

CGGC International reported the situations of biding & negotiation and management planning program of Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project, and Niekai, the Vice President of CGGC, introduced the basic conditions of this project. He pointed out that Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project has a important meaning for the international market development of CGGC. Therefore, construction planning of this project shall be carried out earnestly; management system should be simplified and efficient; the coordination of inner/outer relationships should be highly emphasized; the importance of contract execution should be fully cognized; all preliminary works before mobilization should be carried out immediately to ensure commencement on time.

Mmbers of relevant 7 units involving in this project, are Qingjiang River Construction Bureau, No.5 Engineering Co, Machinery & ship Co, Mechanical and Electrical Co, Foundation Treatment Co, Survey & Mapping Engineering Institute and Test Center, made a presentation in this meeting, expressing that they would follow the unify anrrangement and deployment of CGGC, carry out construction mobilization, work out management planning, optimize construction program, ensure sucessful construction and set up high quality brand of CGGC.

Yang Jixue highly emphasized the difficults of this project, shch as large span, long front, tight construction period and tough works, shall be fully cognized, key links should be grasped, the integral advantages of CGGC should be brought into play. The relevant units involving in this project should make the responsibilities, rights and benefits clearly, carry out preliminary works for construction immediately, plan out management program of construction earnestly, and mobilize all the enthusiasm to construct Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project as the sample project.
