CGGC wins the project of Wudongde spillway tunnel

On Sep 29, CGGC won the construction project of section I of the civil construction and installation of metal structure of the spillway tunnel of Wudongde Hydropower Station.

The project, with the construction of the spillway tunnel and the tailrace as the key, will start from October 2013 to June 30, 2019, lasting a total of 69 months.

Located at the Wudongde Hydropower Station on the border between Luquan County (Kunming City, Yunnan Province) and Huidong County of Sichuan Province, it is the first one of the four cascades at the lower reach of the Jinsha River.

The power station has a total installed capacity of 10.2 gigawatts and is expected to be put into operation in 2020. Upon completion, the project will play a role in power generation, flood control, shipping and sediment storage, etc., and is of strategic importance to the economic & social development of Sichuan and Yunnan and the project of “West-East Power Transmission”.
