Ice and snow festival opens on New Year’s Day

Children take part in activities at an ice and snow cultural festival in Guyang county, Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. The festival opened on Jan 1 and will run until the end of February. The festival covers an area of 300,000 square meters, with the ice and snow sculptures representing more than 40,000 cubic meters. High-speed train debuts in Inner Mongolia
A bullet train departed Hohhot East Railway Station for Ulanqab marking the start of high-speed rail services using Inner Mongolia’s first newly-laid high-speed railway on Aug 3.
