Large enterprises transform in NETDA

The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area saw fast transformation and restructuring of its enterprises in the first quarter of the year in Nantong, Jiangsu province, with the area's output of high-tech industries hitting 10.81 billion yuan ($1.76 billion), an increase of 8 percent over the same period last year. The output of emerging industries amounted to 10.11 billion yuan, a growth of 18.3 percent year-on-year, thanks to the extending of the industrial chain and innovation.

Enterprises in NETDA succeeded in industrial restructuring by extending markets and the industrial chain. Nantong Zhenhua Heavy Equipment Manufacturing is one of the large enterprises in NETDA. It started to explore markets as early as 2006 to reduce operation risks.

Innovation is key to a large enterprise's industrial transformation. This is true for Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology Co, which produces more advanced and innovative products, and Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry Co, which has made breakthroughs in the marine industry with its high-end products.

The development and technological zone has established four overseas talent work stations in Silicon Valley and Washington in the United States, Britain and Sweden to attract more talent. It is also working on more financial incentives for projects, green development and technological innovation.
