Ancient China porcelain making process displayed with 3D animation

A 3D animation work showing the process of creating China ancient porcelain items is being made in the Jingdezhen ancient kiln folk custom museum, according to the administration department on March 28, 2012. It is expected to open to the public soon.

On March 21, the ancient kiln folk custom museum held the 3D animation porcelain-making process project seminar. At the seminar, ancient porcelain experts and experts of the museum discussed the storyboard, story details and the name of the 3D animation work.

Experts reached an agreement that the plot displayed will not only be vivid and interesting but will also in line with historical facts and the real porcelain-making process. The history of Tang Ying (1682-1756), a porcelain artist from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) who was appointed to supervise porcelain and pottery making for Yongzheng and Qianlong Emperors since 1782 will be emphasized in the animation.

The story's plot will start with Tang Ying's appointment to supervise porcelain making for the imperial family in Jingdezhen. The whole set of the ancient porcelain-making process in Gaoling, Nanhe, imperial kiln plant and Jingdezhen will be demonstrated through Tang Ying's eyes. The story ends with Tang Ying bringing porcelain items that were successfully fired in Jingdezhen back to the imperial palace in Beijing.
