In 2012, the Dandong municipal literary federation will make efforts to carry out a series of themed activities to promote the creation of literature and art works and the building of artistic talents.

Dandong plans to establish its own literature and art professional team to make local artists and their works popular over the country, according to Wu Duoliang, president of the city's literary federation.

Through two years of development, the Dandong land calligraphy team has grown to the current 1,000 plus members from only a couple dozen at the start. The literary federation will hold a national land calligraphy invitational contest to enlarge Dandong's land calligraphy influence on other parts of China.

Scripts of ten high-quality TV series created by Lin Heping are going to be publicized by the federation, the first script collection of TV series in China. The city will continue to develop literature and art exchange activities at provincial level, at home and abroad.

Special attention will be paid to holding the 2012 China (Dandong)-DPRK Trade and Culture Expo and DPRK fine arts and artworks exhibition. Artists of various fields will be invited to Dandong to carry out cultural exchanges.

The literary federation also sets to organize a cultural team to bring various artistic activities to local people in factories, administrative offices, schools, military camps and construction sites. The federation will put more energy into strengthening training and developing fans at a basic level.

Artistic forms including books, TV series and themed essay writing activities will be employed to prepare for the 60th anniversary of the victory of the War to resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

The Dandong municipal literary federation will enhance communication with the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the provincial federation in efforts to establish a unique cultural brand for the city.
