Siasun Robot & Automation Co will cooperate with the Qingdao municipal government to build a creative platform for the development of a national-level robot industry and establish a new headquarters in Qingdao, Shandong province.

The Qingdao municipal government and Siasun will work together to build the Siasun-Qingdao Central Institute, a national key laboratory of robots, a national sub-center for robot engineering and a scientific research station of post-doctors and academicians.

With a total investment of 3.6 billion yuan ($585 million), Siasun will build an investment holding corporation in the Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It will mainly manufacture different robots and intelligent manufacturing equipment as well as explore digital manufacturing solutions.

The Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is striving to build an industrial base for the robot industry. It will set up an intelligent manufacturing department, establish eight policies to promote the robot industry, provide funds of 100 million yuan for the robot industry and create training base for professionals in the robot industry. There will be 50 robot industrial enterprises in the hi-tech industrial zone by 2016, with an output value of 10 billion yuan by 2020.

Members of the Qingdao municipal government, Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and Siasun Robot & Automation Co attended the signing ceremony.

Established in 2000, Siasun Robot & Automation Co was affiliated to Chinese Academy of Science. It mainly explores robot manufacturing and automation technology and is a pilot for the robot industry in China.
