On Oct 27, themed "Fudi culture and living environment", 2010 China (Qingyuan) Fudi Culture Forum opened at the Grace Garden Hotel in Qingxin county.

Fudi is a concept used in Taoism to refer to a place where celestial beings live or where people can inherent fortune. On Oct 27, 2010 China (Qingyuan) Fudi Culture Forum opened at the Grace Garden Hotel in Qingxin county to celebrate “Fudi culture and living environment”.

More than 300 guests, including representatives from 15 domestic provinces and 25 prefecture-level cities, leaders of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), various experts and scholars attended the forum.

The crowd was awed by the symbolic act of pouring water collected from Qingyuan Mountain and Jingfu Mountain into a fluorescence champagne tower shaped like the Fudi logo.

Chen Jiaji is the honorary director of the forum’s organizing committee, the secretary-general of CPC Qingyuan Municipal Committee and the director of Qingyuan Municipal People’s Congress.

"Qingyuan has long been known as a land of promise. Among the three lands of promise in Guangdong province, two are in Qingyuan,” she said. “Therefore, Qingyuan enjoys unique advantages and huge potential in inheriting and developing Fudi culture. We’ll make full use of these precious resources and shape Fudi culture into a flagship among the local cultures.”

CPPCC Qingyuan Municipal Committee Chairman Zou Xuejun, said in her keynote speech, “Fudi culture is originated from the wisdoms of traditional Chinese culture and blended with western philosophies. It is a fruit of inheritance and innovation of eastern and western cultures.”

"The forum aims to invite all guests together to discuss and find ways to promote the core concepts and elements of Fudi culture,” she said.
