Located in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park (XITLP) on the northeast outskirts of Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, the Xi'an Railway Container Center Station will be developed into a core warehousing and logistics hub.
It enjoys very convenient transportation as it is connected by a beltway only 7 kilometers south to a series of expressways, connecting Lianyungang–Khorgas, Beijing-Kunming, Shanghai-Shaanxi, Baotou-Maoming and Fuzhou-Yinchuan.
The Xi'an Railway Container Center Station covers an area of 68.3 hectares and has a total investment of 350 million yuan ($56.5 million). The first phase of the project was launched in September 2008 and completed in June 2009.
Its formal operation began on Dec 1, 2010. The first phase completed two cargo loading and unloading tracks, both of which spanned 1,050 meters, to facilitate the loading and unloading of container columns.
The station is designed on modern logistics requirements. It is divided into different functional areas, including the stockpiling area, warehousing areas and international container areas. They are equipped with modern facilities, such as container loading and uploading equipment and dispatching and monitoring management systems.
The automatically operated systems also include an advanced information management system that can improve the efficiency of the business, facilitating inquiry, tracking, customs and banking.
The Xi'an Railway Container Center Station has two cargo loading and unloading tracks, both of which are 850 meters in length. The gantry crane track is 808 meters long.
The station has four cranes with a lifting capacity of 40 tons, as well as a front sling van, two container trucks and two electric power carts.
There are three combined static electronic loadometers. The one in the south can measure 100 tons and the two in the north can measure 80 tons each. The intelligent gate houses a BP6000 security inspection machine.
