Shanghai recently released the third batch of green manufacturing system demonstration units, which included seven companies from Jiading district.
To date, Jiading district is home to 25 green manufacturing system demonstration units, including 20 green factories, two green industrial parks, two green supply chains, and one green product certified company. The district ranked third in Shanghai in terms of the amount of green manufacturing system demonstration units
The construction of the green manufacturing system is vital for accelerating the high-quality development of green industries, supporting the city to realize the goal of peaking carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
One example of how the district is achieving this is by looking at Shanghai Totole Food, which is located in Jiangqiao town, and is one of the demonstration units as well as a green factory. "The company invested 50 million yuan ($7.86 million) to build the green factory in March 2020 and adopted advanced clean producing technology and efficient terminal treatment equipment," said Su Zhou, manager of the safety, health and environmental management of the company.
Another example is the new material technology company Hubao, which is located in Jiading industrial zone. The company uses German-imported equipment for energy conservation and pollution reduction, and the German information managing system to reduce labor costs, said Tang Zhihao, CEO of Hubao.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25)?period, Jiading aims to establish 15 green factories, three green supply chains, and three green industrial parks to achieve the goal that green energy companies will account for more than 25 percent of the total in the district.
