Hydrangeas are currently in full bloom at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai's Songjiang district, and the blooming period is expected to last until July.

The botanical garden boasts a wealth of hydrangeas in an array of vibrant colors. There are more than 2,000 hydrangea plants of more than 150 varieties.

The Hydrangea Garden in the botanical garden covers an area of about 1,500 square meters and is located in a metasequoia forest.

The stunning sea of beautiful hydrangea flowers under the green trees now looks like something right out of Alice in Wonderland, attracting a large number of tourists who want to take pictures.

The botanical garden is currently open from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with visitor capacity capped at 50 percent of maximum. Outdoor spaces are open to the public, but some indoor facilities remain closed. Only the entrance at Gate 1 (No 3888, Chenhua Road, Songjiang district) is open, and the other entrances are closed.

Visitors must make online real-name reservations and purchase tickets at least one day ahead of their visit.

According to COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control requirements, visitors must undergo body temperature, health code and venue code checks, wear masks, and present negative nucleic acid test results taken within 72 hours before entering the park.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is located in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort. It is the largest botanical garden in East China and a national 4A-level scenic spot.
