The Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group Co got national honors on March 28, when the Ministry of Industry and Information declared it a national demonstration company for the integration of informationization and industrialization for 2012. There were 218 enterprises in all gaining the title, but only 10 from the iron and steel business.

To win the honor, Taiyuan Iron & Steel had to establish a special informationization group and communicate with some prominent international consulting companies. It followed up with a project implementation team to complete the overall organization of its informationization plan.

After the beginning of China’s 12th Five-year Plan (2011-16), Taiyuan Iron & Steel drew up its own 12th Five-year Informatizaton Plan and did organization, operation, function, an development analyses for existing and future problems.
