How to make culture and tourism drive economic growth in Shanxi? How to combine networking and the internet with the culture and tourism industries?

More than 500 businesspeople tried to solve these issues at a culture and tourism summit in Taiyuan on Nov 26, with the help of Zhisland, a top O2O social networking platform for entrepreneurs in China.

Zhisland set up its branch in Shanxi in November 2015. The branch, with some 70 local member entrepreneurs, has established think tanks and provided consultation for member companies since its establishment, helping solve problems with business operations.

"Shanxi has a long history and well-reserved cultural heritage and we call on more businesspeople to explore potential and resources in the Shanxi culture and tourism sector," said Li Anping , chairman of the branch and CEO of Zhendong Group, a local business engaged in the health industry.

Members of the branch will get cutting-edge information on the local culture and tourism industries from business specialists and share opinions with each other, while improving the efficiency of self–learning through the online and offline interaction activities organized by the platform, according to Li.

Zhang Fuming, vice governor of Shanxi, hoped that these member entrepreneurs will continue to seek new ways to boost Shanxi culture and tourism through the platform, and expand their businesses in the province to upgrade the two industries. The Shanxi government will support them by enacting preferential policies and optimizing the business environment.

Experts in economics and leaders of tourism associations discussed means of developing the culture and tourism sector and turning it into a pillar industry in the Shanxi economy. Jinzhong, Yangquan, Luliang and other cities also promoted their tourism sectors at the event.
