The construction of the main structure and masonry of Kangcheng Primary School has been completed. External thermal insulation is 95 percent complete, according to the Karamay bureau of housing and urban development.

Kangcheng Primary School is located in Kangcheng Community in southeastern Karamay, covering an area of 55,100 square meters. With an investment of 140 million yuan ($22.5 million), construction started on Aug 16, 2013, and is projected to finish in early 2015.

The construction contains a teaching area, office area, and living and management area. In the teaching area, in addition to ordinary classrooms, various special classrooms have been built, including a specimen exhibition room, computer room, audio-visual classroom, painting and calligraphy classroom, and musical instrument classroom.
