A new air route from Karamay to Wuhan opened on July 8. The flight is scheduled on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The flight, No CZ8287, is from Karamay in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province; the return flight is No CZ8288.

As of now Karamay has direct flights to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang, and to Beijing, Chengdu, and Wuhan.

Authorities feel that the new direct flight will facilitate Karamay locals to go outside Xinjiang, and promote Karamay tourism and commerce with the inland as well.
