Chinese system best for complex country

If one country's politics can unite its people or hold executive power depends on whether the best leader can be elected for important posts, says an article in the People's Daily. Excerpts:

The transition of power in this confident, rising country has been smooth, thorough and orderly. China will not collapse — it will march forward, much like its lightening fast trains. Compared with the long dysfunctional Washington and debt-ridden Europe, China holds more promise.

China's state interests are not bounded, as they are in some Western countries, by partisan politics. China has formed efficient election and personnel systems to ensure the most talented leaders take the helms of the government, the Party and the army. Chinese leaders will not waste as much money as their Western counterparts do holding elections. Chinese leaders pay more attention to improving their knowledge and abilities.

Chinese leaders start their careers in grassroots level villages and work their way up to the senior posts of central government. So they know China very well, especially the concerns of the common people. China has many facets, so it is necessary to select leaders who have proven their abilities at various levels.

The Communist Party of China has existed for more than 90 years and ruled China for more than 60 years. The veteran party not only challenges the traditional political beliefs of the West, but also enriches the theories and practices of election politics in human society.
