In the summer of 1945, the Eighth Route Army planed to attack the County of Matou, which was then occupied by Japanese army. Lan’s mission was going to a mosque to ask the imam if they could break down the wall behind the mosque, so that they could come in and hide. In the mosque, they burrowed a hole for three days and nights successively, until the hole led all the way to the bunker of the enemy.
