Regarding connectivity and construction of economic corridors, the China-ASEAN Symposium on Connectivity and Customs Cooperation adopted the Consensus on Cooperation and signed documents on cooperation between China and Vietnam and China and Lao PDR.Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port Group inked the letter of intent on port cooperation with Brunei Darussalam. China Railway Construction Corporation Limited signed with Guangxi a framework agreement on strategic cooperation in participating in the Belt and Road initiative.

The Roundtable on China-Indochina International Economic Corridor (Nanning-Singapore) Cooperation and Development promoted connectivity between regions along the economic corridor, customs clearance facilitation, trade and investment facilitation and cross-border economic and trade cooperation parks. It announced the Roundtable on China-Indochina International Economic Corridor (Nanning-Singapore) Cooperation and Development Nanning Consensus. Brunei Darussalam signed with Guangxi a framework agreement on port cooperation as well as the framework agreement on strategic cooperation in the Belt and the Road with China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd.

For financial cooperation, the China-ASEAN Forum on Financial Cooperation and Development promoted new major projects to be contracted and settled. It signed agreements on strategic cooperation with Agricultural Bank of China, Shanghai Gold Exchange and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchang and the framework agreement on cooperation in bulding the Guangxi Beibu Gulf RMB International Investment and Credit Fund; A framework agreement on cooperation was concluded between Guangxi Finance Office, Construction Bank of China Guangxi Branch, Beibu Gulf Port Group and CCB International Co., Ltd; Shanghai Gold Exchange granted memberships to financial institutions, Guangxi Gold Investment Co., Ltd was launched, and Postal Saving Bank of China unveiled plaque for its China-ASEAN Monetary Center for Dongxing, Pingxiang and Jingxi. The China-ASEAN Insurance Cooperation and Development Forum was held for the first time, aiming at promoting regional insurance supervision and cooperation in Asia.

For maritime cooperation, the Achievements Exhibition on China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation was arranged, to highlight the bilateral cooperation in marine economy, marine science and technology, maritime connectivity, environmental protection and people-to-people exchanges and envision the bright future of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The State Oceanic Administration of China signed with Guangxi the Framework Agreement on Promoting Opening up and Cooperation of Coastal Areas of Guangxi.

For cooperation in science and technology, the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Forum concluded a series of cooperation projects, such as the MOU on cooperation in science and technology between the Department of Science and Technology of Guangxi and the Lao Ministry of Science and Technology, the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Research and High Education of Indonesia and the East China University of Science and Technology, the MOU on cooperation between Bangkok Hospital Group of Thailand and China-ASEAN Training Base of Medical Technology and Innovation, the website of the China-Thailand Technology Transfer Center, the China-ASEAN Innovation Center and the China-ASEAN Research Center of Science and Technology Innovation Policies, etc.

For agricultural cooperation, the ASEAN-China-Japan-Korea Food Security Cooperation Strategic Roundtable, the China-ASEAN Promotion Conference on Quality Fruits and the China-ASEAN Agricultural Materials Industry Forum were held to practically boost regional agricultural cooperation.

For statistics cooperation, the first China-ASEAN Statistics Forum reached common ground on building mechanisms for information sharing and relevant statistics indicators system and publishing the China-ASEAN Statistics Annual Review.

For think tank cooperation, the China-ASEAN Think Tanks’ Strategic Dialogue featured the Belt and Road initiative and building the China-ASEAN Community of Common Destiny as the theme and adopted the China-ASEAN Think Tanks Nanning Consensus.

Moreover, forums on environmental protection, mining sector, electric power, education, culture, drug safety and rehabilitation of disabled people have produced rich practical outcomes. A series of people-to-people exchanges events were arranged. Sister city relations were established between Guangxi and Ho Chi Minh city of Vietnam, between Chongzuo of Guangxi and Khammouan Province of Laos and between Guigang of Guangxi and Zambaoanga of the Philippines. Diverse cultural events like the Nanning International Arts Festival of Folk Songs, the Chia-ASEAN (Nanning) Drama Week and Gala Show, the Sister Cities and Arts Exhibition, the China-ASEAN International Touring Assembly and the China-ASEAN Youth Arts Competition were held to deepen mutual understanding and friendship.
